nice idea. Needs some mechanic to encourage exploring rather than just spawn camping a few chompers for infinite score, maybe you occasionally have to grab a pickup on a random spot in the map, or maybe enemies stop spawning if you kill them too much without killing other ones.
also, maybe prevent enemies from respawning inside the player.
Project B feedback:
- When the pause button is pressed, the player only loses control of the character but the character can still get hit
- The game gets stuck on the game over screen
- Since the only goal of the game is to gather as many points possible, a high score table would be useful. Also, a last high score next to the current score would be nice, with some animations if the high score is beaten.
I like the competitive nature of this game. I do however see a problem with people just camping a few enemies and waiting for them to respawn. To mitigate this, I would make them respawn only after a certain number of them are defeated. Also there is a bug - when Esc is pressed, it disables player control and doesn't open the pause menu. I'd also make the walls around thicker to make it feel more like an arena (and less like a floating box :D).
Project B comment:
I think the game is way too simple. Since there is no progression and the player is just supposed to kill as many monsters as possible, it gets boring quickly. I can just stand in front of one monster and kill it when it respawns and farm points. Maybe it could be nice to give some kind of combo bonus when killing a lot of monsters in small time frame. Or maybe it could be something like time rush where you have to kill all the monsters as fast as possible.
